Only in Western North Carolina can you go to a school auction that gets hooked up with Blacksmithing Lessons. Yes! Really!
From what I understand from Robin, who got this one, the lucky high bidder gets to go to the Noble Forge in Asheville, along with another adult or a Mature child (I believe we are talking about really hot metal, so), and learn how to blacksmith for 2 hours. Melting stuff and banging stuff and so on. Molten metal! At the end of this, you get to take home a hook or a pronged fork or whatever you make. What man, or teenager, or woman, or mature child, wouldn't want to do this?
